Yes, Suzanna, There is Still Racism

Well, Elle magazine, I hope appropriate disciplinary action is being taken on the article regarding the “chic”-ness of African Americans.  In case you missed it, French Elle published an article which blatantly stated that blacks only dressed in street clothes (translation; hip-hop) until the Obamas entered office to provide a chic option of “white codes”.  Really?  Maybe the writer should take a state-side visit before writing on things she obviously has NO knowledge of.

Doesn’t French Elle have editors?  How could any competent editor allow this idiocy to be printed?  Professional journalism requires fact-checking and research before just taking to a keyboard and publishing crap.  This writer is a glaring example of why print media is taking a hit.  Those who want to read information want correct, reliable facts.  Otherwise, we can take a visit to the library and check out a fiction novel.

Please, editors worldwide, take note.  Don’t let this happen again.  Articles such as this jeopardize the entire journalistic industry.

Fight ignorance.

Questions for the President; Intelligent Only Please

Tech-A-Break would like to post a disclaimer and apology.  WARNING; this post is not happy! If I sound angry and disgusted in this post, it is because I am.  Many decisions and people are culpable for the current global economic mess, but fixing it will require commitment, intelligence and moral balance from everyone.  I see none of these attributes in the public from current postings on the Internet.

After reading some of the questions for the President posed on http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/newsmakers/, I am convinced that many Americans walk around with their heads in a paper bag (or perhaps up their rectum).  Why would you spend valuable time asking the President if he is planning to run for office again when his re-election campaign has been in effect for over a year?  Why would you ask him why he won’t tax the top 10% of the population when he has been in the press for weeks being blasted for his “Buffett Tax” proposal?  Yes, these and other ignorant questions are being proposed to the President today.  It is clear that many responded to the opportunity to question our highest official with bigitory, ignorance and hatred.  Others were just stupid.

If you consider yourself qualified to question elected officials check first to see if you
1)voted and 2)bothered to educate yourself on the issues being discussed.

Clearly a large group does neither of these things, they simply log on to the Internet and spout out garbage from their personal bias with no real concern for the actual problems facing Americans.  Fair paying jobs to raise families.  Access to health care, affordable mortgages and cars.  Food and education for children.

No one should give a rat’s tush why the President has not visited Kenya.  If he wants to visit his father’s birthplace, fine.  If not fine.  It has no bearing on the American people’s ability to eat everyday.

WAKE UP America.  If you don’t stop playing victim and become part of the solution, you deserve to be a resident of a third-world country.

Welcome to 2011

{EAV_BLOG_VER:24e89e9e6fba1a74} Hello everyone, and welcome to 2011, the cultural update.

Please note; well spoken, educated black people are not sell outs, fake white people or uncle toms.  They are just intelligent enough to know that an education is a more important asset than a hip car or cell phone.

Education can take you places socially, financially and in a career.  It can also enhance your family interactions so that yelling does not become the default language.  Education makes you a more interesting person to talk with and allows you to contribute knowledge to others.

White people are not the enemy.  Ignorance is the enemy of everyone in the world.  Atrocities are committed by every race and culture in the world.  Until violence and poverty are eliminated as OK for someone else, we are all subject to become slaves to fear.

Even in our current economy, you are what you make of yourself.  If you choose to be depressed and downtrodden, you will be.  No matter what your financial situation you can choose to be fearless and create opportunities for success.

Embrace each new contact with a spirit of positiveness and maybe it will come back to you.  If not, wish them well and move on.  Each second you spend whining or complaining about what someone was or was not is a second of your life they own.

Take ownership of your life and future with decisions that create a new and more powerful you.  It takes time, but all good things do, so invest time and knowledge in yourself and make yourself a force in the community by volunteering, helping the needy and voting.

Join the new future.
